Cruise price drop alerts
Cruise fares keep moving after you book, and the cruise line never calls to tell you. CruiseSignal watches the price of your exact sailing around the clock and tells you as soon as we find a drop, along with what the drop is worth and how long you have to claim it.
Why a cruise price drop alert is worth money
The alert is not the product. The claim it makes possible is.
A cruise price drop alert is only useful because of what sits behind it. Every line we actively track runs a published price protection program. If the public fare for your exact ship, sail date and cabin category drops while your booking is still inside the window, you can ask the line to reprice it, pay you onboard credit, or upgrade your cabin.
The catch is that the line has no reason to tell you, and the window is usually your final payment date. So the money is real, published and claimable, and it stays with the cruise line unless somebody is watching. That is the entire job of a price drop alert.
On Norwegian, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, 22% or more of the fares we track later fell by $500 or more on a cabin for two. On Norwegian, one drop in ten was worth more than $1,320.
From booking to claim
- 01Add your booking Ship, sail date, cabin category, guests and what you paid. About a minute, and no cruise line password.
- 02We watch the public fare Checks run around the clock and get more frequent as your final payment date approaches.
- 03You get the alert The amount, the program it falls under, and the deadline to file.
- 04You or your agent claim it Cruise lines require the booking holder to ask, so we hand you the numbers and a short script.

Most refunds are only possible before final payment. When your price drops, we tell you the amount and how long you have left to claim it, by push notification on iPhone or by email on the web.

Alerts by cruise line
Each line runs a different program with a different deadline. These pages cover both.
Lines we do not track yet
We do not watch these lines yet. Each page explains how a price drop works on that line and lets you ask for it.
What the fares actually do
The share of fares that later fell by $200 and by $500 or more on a cabin for two. Our own measurements, not industry estimates.
| Cruise line | Fares tracked | Fell $200+ | Fell $500+ | 1 in 10 drops over |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Norwegian | 100,763 | 62.5% | 36% | $1,320 |
| Celebrity | 46,885 | 55.8% | 29.1% | $1,846 |
| Royal Caribbean | 102,445 | 46.6% | 22% | $1,152 |
| Carnival | 540,076 | 3.6% | 0.7% | $314 |
Drops are for a cabin of two guests, from the first price we recorded to the lowest one after it.
Questions
A notification telling you the fare for the cruise you already booked has fallen. It matters because cruise lines let you claim the difference under their own price protection programs, but none of them contact you when it happens. Without an alert, the claim window usually closes before you notice.
Often, yes, though it depends heavily on the line. On Norwegian, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, 22% or more of the fares we track later fell by $500 or more on a cabin for two. On Norwegian, one drop in ten was worth more than $1,320. See the data.
It depends on the line and on whether you have made final payment. Before final payment, most lines will reprice your booking, which means a refund or a smaller remaining balance. After final payment, some offer onboard credit or a cabin upgrade in narrow windows, and some offer nothing. Compare every policy.
CruiseSignal is free to start, on iPhone or on the web. Continuous tracking is a subscription, because checking prices around the clock costs money to run. Whether a drop happens on your sailing, and whether the line approves a claim, varies.
You can, and it works right up until you forget. The fare has to match your exact ship, sail date and cabin category to be claimable, prices move at any hour, and the window closes at final payment. That is the part that is hard to do by hand for months on end.
No. CruiseSignal compares public prices on the cruise line's own site against the booking details you enter. We never ask for your cruise line password.
